Condition based monitoring of assets - TPM-RAMS
TPM RAMS provides real-time data collection from assets, which are sent via GPRS (mobile phone technology) to a web server which can forward the information to a virtual control room anywhere in the world.
Unlike traditional production monitoring and building management systems that indicate running/stop conditions or measure predetermined parameters, TPM-RAMS constantly monitors and trends assets, and can predict failures before they occur.
This enables real-time monitoring of critical/priority assets 24/7 and via the condition based monitoring predict and prevent failure of assets during operation periods and improve asset availability to greater than 99.5%.
Using traffic light colour coding, we can quickly and efficiently show in real-time the condition of any asset across the facility operation totally wirelessly, this provides cost efficient infrastructure that is expandable for the future.

CAL & DBR are in advanced stages of contract discussions to implement a project to use RAMS to assist with the control of business critical assets to avoid catastrophic failure during the 2012 Olympic Games.
The data provided also demonstrates to the Health & Safety Executive in the event of an incident, the level of monitoring, maintenance and intervention controls are in place to keep safety concerns to a minimum. The RAMS system once installed requires no manual input or intervention for data recording or monitoring. The Asset Manager can demonstrate to the HSE that risks to staff and the public are kept as low as reasonably practical (ALARP).
The RAMS system being installed, is currently being used to control similar assets within the Passenger Terminals at Heathrow Airport for BAA, and has increased asset availability, and significantly reduced maintenance and energy costs. |
